Bomber Base

Bomberman (shirobonbon, played by cinnamonical)
Everyone knows Bomberman - he's probably Bomber Star's most famous citizen, well-recognized and respected for his successful work in helping to keep the Bomber Nebula and the surrounding area safe from wrongdoers. He started his crime-fighting career early in his life, joining the Jetters at age 10 and working up from there to become the...er...bomber he is today. He's always willing to lend a helping hand to those who need it, but he also tends to forget that there are others around him who would be willing to help him with his own problems. Bomberman is generally a very level-headed person, but nothing will piss him off faster than being compared to his older brother Mighty - even if it's in a favorable light.

Kuro (Black Bomber)
Bomberman’s best friend. He is cool, calm, and very easygoing - almost to the point of apathy and laziness. Still, he comes through when you need him. He prides himself on his driving skills in any sort of vehicle - although everyone else is dead scared of them. In addition to being able to expertly maneuver most sorts of vehicles (car, motorbike, plane, boat, etc.), he’s also a good strategist. When, you know, he actually puts his mind to strategizing. However, he has a younger brother named Jack that he’s insanely protective of: if you even think about harming little Jack, Kuro will burninate you to ashes.

Aka (Red Bomber)
The girliest tomboy you can think of. She has a mad crush on Kuro, but he’s far too apathetic to really notice, leaving her discouraged and forced to look elsewhere for love until Kuro gets a clue. She likes rabbits, gardening...and heavy metal. Her specialty lies in geography and knowing where things are, whether it’s Kuro’s celebrity gossip magazines, or the best place for local cuisine, or what two rivers cut through the Peace Mountains on the other side of Bomber Star. She is overly trusting of people, and believes whole-heartedly in the innate goodness of everyone’s hearts.

Ao (Blue Bomber)
The resident student genius at Bomber Base. He has immense talent with anything related to math or computer science, and is frequently employed at the Base as either a computer technician, a programmer, or a hacker. He’s not socially awkward, though - he works hard, but he parties way harder. He frequently cuts class to hole himself up in a computer lab - not that it matters too much since he aces all the tests anyway. He complains about missions that overlap with parties he’d been planning on going to. He is a bit of a neat freak, and takes it upon himself to clean up after himself and others, while complaining all the way. Did I mention that he likes to complain a lot?

Midori (Green Bomber)
No one knows why, but Midori really does not like Bomberman. He never interferes with Bomberman during a mission (he’s too professional for that), but he takes nearly any chance he can get to make inflammatory and unflattering remarks about anything related to Bomberman. Unfortunately, he also possesses a remarkable amount of battle skill as well as the ability of “remote viewing”: to describe what something or someone looks like when it’s physically hidden from him. Admittedly, he can’t really use this ability at will, but it seems to pop up when it’s most needed, and thus it makes him rather valuable to the elite task force.

Kiiro (Yellow Bomber)
He comes off as the big, dumb bozo of the group, especially if you consider that he frequently thinks he’s “all that” when all too often he falls hilariously short. He constantly bites off more than he can chew, but this is simply the flip side of his willingness to work hard and take a chance. He’s a generous, caring guy, who puts his friends and family first, and is always willing to lend a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. His main contributions to the elite task force team are physical strength, intimidation, and cooking. (Well, they can’t very well be eating packaged ramen and takeout pizza all the time, now, can they?)

Max
An android built by Dr. Ein to be Bomberman’s partner in more dangerous missions. He is based off information confiscated from Dr. Mecado’s files after the events of the anime. Although he is wired to follow the side of good (similar to Zero), he retains the arrogance of MA-10 (Professor Ein somehow failed to completely remove this aspect from this version of Max), and often looks down on Bomberman and the rest of the task force, preferring to do things his own way. Provoke him enough, and he becomes the cold-hearted killer android from the time of Bomberman Jetters, with his eyes turning red. The only way to deal with him in this mode is to knock him out completely, either by using brute strength or disabling him with a special remote that Professor Ein designed for such situations (and the existence of which he carefully kept from Max). Despite his aloof exterior, there have been rumors floating around the Base that he seems to have a particular weakness for Aka...

Nitros
Nitros was just a humble second-year student at Bomber Base until a low-level mission as Princess Millian’s escort guard landed him in the lap of the Garaden Army, led by the now-defunct Bagular. He was brainwashed into one of their generals, but was eventually restored to his senses by Bomberman, for which he is immensely grateful. He specializes in mixing up and creating just the right sort of explosive concoction or contraption for the situation, and tends to be really handy with mechanical things. He is humble and respectful of everyone, even spiteful Midori and arrogant Max, but one has to wonder whether sometimes he wouldn’t like to just make everyone shut up in the most violent way possible.

Pommy (spacecreampuff, played by lunare_valhart)
Pommy is originally from Charabom Planet, despite having been found at the hot springs on Planet Ksa2; how he got there is anyone's guess. His egg was found by Bomberman during his stay on Ksa2, and was dragged along for the ride when Bomberman was pulled into the BHB Army's artificial black hole. Despite their bickering throughout their adventure, the two ended up growing close, and Pommy accompanied Bomberman back to Bomber Star. Since then, he's become a rather permanent fixture at Bomber Base, known for tagging along on Bomberman's missions and becoming an unofficial member of the elite task force. Although most of his proclamations of greatness are usually hot air, Pommy is actually surprisingly observant, and can use his sharp teeth to great effect if needed. He's easily won over with food, and considers himself somewhat of a connoisseur. Not being one for formalities, he prefers his life as carefree as he can manage at any given moment. Any mention of Louie, Bomberman's first animal companion, cuts deep into his pride as the cutest hero in the universe.

Professor Ein/Dr. Ein
Professor Ein is usually the one who assigns missions to Bomberman and the rest of the task force team. He originally ran only the Jetters from their base on Jetters Planet, but he has since been given the dual responsibility of overseeing both the Jetters and Bomber Base’s elite task force. He is an eccentric grandfather figure, given to being both encouraging and infuriating to those around him at the same time. He was classmates with Bomberman’s grandmother back in his younger days, and still harbors his crush on her from that time period, much to Bomberman’s annoyance.

Tokiko (findingdevotion, played by cinnamonical)
Tokiko is the newest addition to the task force: a strange, quirky girl with a penchant for asking questions about anyone and anything. Nothing is too personal or inane for her to inquire about, and if she's aware of how silly or obnoxious she looks when asking such questions, she either hides it well or doesn't seem to care. Though Tokiko is generally a nice girl, she doesn't seem to harbor either malice or affection for anyone. She also doesn't seem to grasp the concept of food vs. non-food: she's been seen eating paper and drinking window cleaner in addition to more normal things like fruits and vegetables. Her abilities include agility in battle, picking out patterns in a series of seemingly unrelated events, and dressing in the worst possible combinations of clothes.

General Jun
A high-ranking general in Bomber Star's army. He is the leader of the Quartet, the four main people who run Bomber Base.

Lieutenant Murasaki
Second-in-command in Bomber Base's Quartet. She used to be an officer in the Bomber Star Army, but was assigned to this position after it was decided that her presence was too distracting for the cadets (and for some of the higher ranking officers as well). She tends to be flighty, flirty, and immature, but don't take her lightly.

Jet Bomber
Third-in-command in Bomber Base's Quartet. An oddball who hovers everywhere - even when sleeping - via anti-gravity jet packs. He is laid-back and calm, but extremely intelligent.

Kunai Bomber
Fourth-in-command in Bomber Base's Quartet, the older sister of Bomber Ninja from the BMJ anime. She throws explosive kunai, and is renowned for her spying/espionage/disguise abilities. But she's also a very sweet girl who loves flowers.

The Elemental Knights

The Crimson Flame - Baelfael (lotus_of_flame, played by dantaron)
The Elemental Knight of fire, and the youngest of the current generation of knights. Warm and friendly at normal doses, but it’s highly recommended that you never piss this guy off. He has romantic sights set on Moira, but Behemos' brotherly protectiveness towards Moira prevents him from really getting anywhere farther than vague flirting.

Lord of the Frozen Wastes - Behemos
The Elemental Knight of water and ice. He tends to be tough and gruff, but really, he’s a nice guy under all that...ice. He has a younger sister named Moira whom he cares deeply for and looks after, sometimes to a fault. He and Baelfael have been friends for a long time.

Lord of the Winds - Ashtarth
The Elemental Knight of the wind. He vastly prefers peace to conflict, and often acts as the middleman in resolving disputes between anyone. He is very much in tune with his element, and tends to stay outdoors in nature when he can, which has led others to call him a “hippie.” He has a good friendship with Zhael, partly due to the mutuality of their elemental powers.

Mistress of the Storm - Zhael
The Elemental Knight of lightning. She is very loyal to those she loves, almost to a fault - she can get clingy to people, and is often blind to some of their worst faults. If she feels threatened or offended by someone, she’ll be rude and snobby to that person. Nevertheless, she still has a kind heart overall, and will help out whenever she’s needed.

The Raging Earth - Molok
The Elemental Knight of the earth, and the oldest of the current generation of knights. He is wise, and believes highly in honor and knowing one’s purpose in life. Despite being mostly down-to-earth and cool, Zoniha’s jokes about his age can get him a teensy bit annoyed.

The Purifying Light - Zoniha (supernovical, played by cinnamonical)
The Elemental Knight of light. Though she usually looks down on anything possessing a pair of XY chromosomes, she admires Regulus - even if he did kill her once before. She is haughty and proud, playful but not childish.

Prince of Shadows - Regulus (theblackbreath, played by axislyonheart17)
The Elemental Knight of darkness, also known as the Black Breath, Bulzeeb. He was once the right-hand man to the great space pirate Altair, whose armada he joined out of loyalty and respect for Altair's abilities. He and Zoniha had a close relationship in the past, but now he just takes any chance he can get to avoid her.

The Pirate Guild

Lilith
The Scourge of the Spaceways. She is a space pirate and treasure hunter. In battle, she specializes in projectile weapons such as guns and throwing knives. Though she often gets rather violent towards Rukifellth as a result of his advances on her, she really does care very deeply about him, and would sacrifice everything to save his life. She's from Zelkova in the Thalian Empire.

Rukifellth
The Dark Messenger. He and Lilith are rarely seen apart, either while doing work or when they’re taking a break. Rukifellth excels in swordsmanship and cracking jokes at the worst possible times. He’s also a grade-A pervert, making passes at anything that’s attractive (regardless of gender). Nevertheless, he is intensely loyal to Lilith, and a very dependable person overall. He's from Yretsym in the Thalian Empire.

The Jetters and Related Characters

Shout
Shout is the current leader of the Jetters. She tends to have a short temper, especially when it concerns her weight, but she's good at keeping everyone together and giving orders. She fights using a three-pronged boomerang. Her father runs a ramen shop on Jetters Planet.

Birdy
The unofficial second-in-command of the Jetters team. A skilled fighter in hand-to-hand combat, but has feather darts as part of his arsenal. He is usually rational and collected in a crisis.

Bongo
A hefty creature who specializes in mechanical feats and curry. He doesn't look like it, but he's actually a prince.

Gangu
A robot built by Dr. Ein. He can transform into a number of different things, although it's usually Bongo who does the transforming (and it's usually against Gangu's will).

Misty
A space thief. She originally hailed from a nomadic trive of anthropomorphic cat people on Kanatia, but she's since traveled widely across the universe, stealing valuable treasures. She once had a crush on Mighty, the former leader of the Jetters team, and is now considered to be an honorary member of the team. She puts on a tough exterior to hide her true feelings.

Mujoe
A bumbling yet lovable thief. He leads the Hige Hige Bandits on the field. He and the Jetters frequently clash, but he's mostly harmless and has a good heart.

Miscellaneous

Princess Millian
The crown princess of Primus Star. She has a scientific mind, though she's not quite a genius - she helped to build Pibot, her robot companion. She has a fascination with jewelry and accessories.

Moira
Moira is Behemos' younger sister. Like her older brother, she employs ice-based abilities, although they are less powerful. She is a sweet young girl who is willing to help out anyone. Watch out, though - if Moira saves your ass big-time, you'd better believe that you owe a debt to her, and if you're not willing to pay it, she'll either make you pay it or make you regret that you crossed her path. Conversely, if you help out Moira in a significant way, she'll take great pains to make sure that she does the same for you. She used to have a small crush on Bomberman, but she's since shifted her affections towards Baelfael. (To see Moira in action, check out the second chapter of Fateful Meetings, an adaptation and re-telling of The Second Attack. Be warned - the chapter is approximately 25,000 words.)
