Character Application form.

WE NEED ALL SECTIONS TO BE FILLED OUT. To make things easier on yourself, you can just C&P this form into an e-mail or a document and fill it out as needed.

ABOUT YOU
Name: What you want others to call you, so that we’re not throwing around LJ usernames. This doesn't have to be your real name - it can be a pseudonym or a Net handle or whatever.
Age: Over 15 preferred, but if you demonstrate in the “Your Character” section that you are competent, we’ll let you in.
RP Experience: Have you RPed before? If so, where and how?
E-mail: Required. We need something where the mods and other players can contact you at for various reasons. Please make sure that your e-mail filters are set so that you can receive e-mails from people outside of your contact list, if they aren’t set like that already.
Messenger: Not required, but it’d be nice. Give the name(s) and the client(s).
Personal LJ account: Not the character LJ(s) you’ll be using to RP with, but your own, whether it has any entries in it or not. This is mainly for the sake of record-keeping and picking out the trolls.
How did you find this RP?: Did you come across it on a random search? Was it announced on a message board? Did Sora beat you over the head with it? We'd like to know so that we have a general idea of where our applicants are coming from.

ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER
Name: What character are you applying for?
Biography: The majority of the characters in the world of Bomberman, in either the games or the anime, don’t have a lot of backstory (which is partly why this RP was created). This means that you have a fair amount of leeway with which to interpret and make up a history, using a blend of your own imagination, what you know of the canon, and what was given to you in the profile (if you're apping a preset, which you most likely are). Nothing too out there, though. This doesn’t have to be extensive—just enough to start with and to give you an idea of who you’re playing as.
Personality: Again, you have some leeway here. However, this is a particularly important part of the application, because a lot of what happens to your character and what will influence later events depends on the personality and inclinations of a character. So, what are your character’s good points and bad points? Strengths? Weaknesses? What are their hobbies, their interests, their hopes, their fears? You don’t have to do a detailed character analysis (unless you really want to), but we need something that will help this character stand out in our minds. If you are applying for a preset, we'd like to see you at least try to incorporate some elements from the original description.
Appearance: This only applies if you are applying as an original character.
Third-person writing sample: The main chunk of your RPing will involve you writing scenes in 3rd-person prose. Write about your character doing something, anything. Things that are about other characters or things that come from existing fanworks will not be accepted. Emoticons and *actions*/::actions:: are not allowed here.
First-person journal sample: Another part of your RPing will be through 1st-person journal entries, written as though you are actually the character you’re playing. In this sample, you need to capture your character’s unique voice. Emoticons and *actions*/::actions:: are allowed, but keep in mind that it will read like an LJ entry—your character won’t actually be doing those things.

E-mail your applications either to Sora (alchymic.aria@gmail.com) or Dante (dantaron@hotmail.com). Happy apping!

ABOUT YOU

Personal LJ account: cinnamonical.
How did you find this RP?: I founded this RP, foo'.

ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER
Name: Tokiko (original character).
Biography: Tokiko is the newest member of Bomber Base’s elite task force. She was orphaned at a young age when her family (her parents and an older brother) was murdered, and lived on the streets until someone was nice enough to take her in. Grateful enough to this benefactor to not want to have to impose on him any longer than she had to, she quickly got herself a job and lived independently on her own, managing to scrounge up enough money to attend Bomber Base on a hefty scholarship.
Personality: Inquisitive, curious, and always asking questions—which is putting it nicely. The way she acts, you’d think she came from a whole nother dimension. No question is too personal or too stupid for her to ask; if Tokiko is ashamed of how her questions make her look to others, she hides it pretty damn well. Tokiko is, for the most part, a nice girl, who treats everyone equally (meaning that they’re all subject to an intense amount of scrutiny and interrogation). She doesn’t seem to harbor either malice or affection for anyone, though: when she speaks of her benefactor and wanting to pay him back, she sounds like she’s talking about a business deal she’s just closed. She also doesn’t seem to know the concept of food vs. non-food—she’s been known to eat paper and drink window cleaner, along with normal things like fruits and veggies. Sometimes she’ll even combine the two, just for shits and giggles.
Appearance: She is a lavender-colored Bombergirl with long black hair and blue eyes. She stands at about the same height as Bomberman, and likes wearing the most ridiculous combination of clothes. Her usual outfit consists of a bowtie, a plaid schoolgirl skirt, striped stockings, and a pair of pink rubber galoshes.
Third-person writing sample: Tokiko lay down on her back in the damp grass under the tree. She gazed at the dark night sky, which was as blank as her gaze. The rain filtered down through the leaves of the tree and dripped onto her face, but she didn’t seem to notice or care.

When she finally stood up and walked away, there was an area of completely dry grass around the tree.
First-person journal sample: Midori gave me a weird look today when I asked him why he was mean to Bomberman. And then he didn’t answer me.

Hmm. How odd. You’d think that since he makes it so obvious that he dislikes Bomberman, he’d tell me WHY he dislikes Bomberman. We all know he dislikes Bomberman. What’s less obvious is why. And yet he expects me—or anyone else—to know this? It makes no sense.

And why don’t things ever taste like they smell? This caramel-scented lotion doesn’t taste anything like caramel, but it definitely smells like it. This doesn’t make any sense, either! Can anyone explain this to me? Please?
